Membership Benefits

  • Reduced fees for GSHA-sponsored and co-sponsored continuing education work-shops.

  • Recognition of members' outstanding service.

  • Opportunities for participation and leadership in the Association governance. Elected and appointed positions are available for member participation annually.

  • Continuous monitoring of activities that directly affect the practice of audiology and speech-language pathology with local, state, and national agencies and health care organizations.

Membership Levels
Regular Membership
Those who have a Master's Degree or equivalent with the major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, speech and hearing science, or education of the hearing impaired; or who have a Master's Degree or equivalent in another field, with evidence of active research, interest or performance in the field of human communication.

Association Membership

Those who have a Bachelor's Degree, but who do not meet the academic requirements for Regular Membership.

Student Membership

Those enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in one of the following areas:  Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, Speech and Hearing Science, or Education of the Hearing Impaired, or in a related field with demonstrated evidence of active research, interest and/pr performance in the field of human communication.

Life Members

Those who have held membership for 10 years and have attained the age of 65; annual dues are waived.

Honorary Members

Those chosen by the Executive Council as having made unusual contributions to GSHA.
