Membership Categories

Important Information About Membership Dues

  • Membership dues are on a rolling dues membership year so that your paid membership will be in effect for one year from the date of your payment.  
  • GSHA distributes all membership renewal notices 90, 60, and 30 days prior to expiration. 
  • Membership shall be considered lapsed if dues are not paid within 30 days after the expiration date.

Regular Membership ($125) -  Join Now!

Regular membership is open to individuals who have a graduate degree with the major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, speech, language, or hearing science, or education of the hearing impaired; or who have a graduate degree in an alternate field, with evidence of active research, interest or performance in the field of communication, swallowing, or hearing disorders.

Associate Membership ($100) - Join Now!

Associate membership is open to individuals who have a bachelor's degree; demonstrate an interest in the goals of GSHA and the field of communication, swallowing, and hearing disorders; and do not meet the academic requirements for Regular membership.

Bridge Membership ($50 or $75) - Join Now!

Bridge membership is open to individuals with a graduate degree in speech-language pathology, audiology, or communication sciences and disorders who are and in the first full year of employment after graduation. Bridge membership may be for one-year only. 
Dues: $50 if previous GSHA or ASHA recognized state Speech-Language-Hearing Association student member; $75 if not previous GSHA or ASHA recognized state Speech-Language-Hearing Association student member.

Student Membership ($35) - Join Now!

Student membership is open to individuals enrolled in an undergraduate or accredited graduate program in speech-language pathology, audiology, speech and hearing science, education of the hearing-impaired, or an alternate field with evidence of active research, interest, or practice in the field of communication, swallowing, or hearing disorders. (Note: Student members may serve on committees but are ineligible to vote or hold office in an elected/appointed GSHA position.)

Advocate Membership ($35) - Join Now!

Advocate membership is open to individuals (e.g., parents, caregivers, and adult consumers) with an interest in the goals of GSHA and the field of  communication, swallowing, and hearing disorders. Advocate members must not be eligible for other classes of membership.

Corporate membership is open to a vendor or other commercial entity who has an interest in the goals of GSHA and the field of communication, swallowing, and hearing disorders and is not eligible for other classes of membership.

Corporate members receive the following benefits:

  • All GSHA publications
  • Access to the GSHA member database and members only pages
  • 10 percent discount on exhibits for conference
  • 10 percent discount on membership fees for all employees of the corporate member or organization
  • One free GSHA job opening posting per year (additional postings are available at a 50% discount off the published member rate)
  • Company logo on GSHA’s home page during the fiscal year of membership
Life Members (free)

Life membership is open to individuals who have held a GSHA membership for 15 years and have attained the age of 65; annual dues are waived. A request must be submitted to the GSHA Executive Director for Life membership status. 

Honorary Members (free)

Honorary membership is provided to individuals who have made significant contributions to GSHA. These individuals are selected by the GSHA Executive Council. The honorary member will be informed of the honor and receive an appropriate document of acknowledgement.
