Award Nominations

General Information

Each year, the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association (GSHA) presents awards to its members at the Business Meeting at the Annual GSHA Convention. These awards are presented to individuals who make distinguished contributions and who are recognized for professional and/or scientific achievements in the field of speech-language pathology and audiology.

The immediate past president serves as the chair of the Honors and Awards Board and the members include chairs of the Membership, Student Affairs, Schools, Healthcare and Private Practice, and Higher Education committee. The Board convenes prior to the Convention, reviews the nominations, and submits its recommendations to the Executive Council for approval.

GSHA’s member community has the opportunity to nominate individuals for following honors and awards:

• Honors of the Association
• Dr. Robert A. Hull Leadership Award 

• Professional Achievement Award 

• Jack Bess Memorial Award 

• GSHA Student Success Undergraduate Scholarship

• GSHA Student Success Graduate Scholarship 

• Volunteer Appreciation Award 

• Legislator Appreciation Award

Timeline:

• The nomination process opens on January 5, 2024
• The nomination process closes on February 10, 2024
• The awards will be given out during GSHA’s Awards Lunch at our annual convention on Friday March 1, 2024 

GSHA cares about our students' success. We are collecting contributions towards the GSHA Student Success Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship Fund which will award monetary award(s) to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in the field of speech language pathology and audiology in the state of Georgia.   Qualified recipients will receive funds to assist with the cost of books and/or the cost of the Praxis exam.
